Inspiring words for those who need them

by Rusty Lindquist on July 31, 2008

Today as I was looking through the search phrases people have used over the past few days that led them to my blog, I found that two separate people had typed the identical phrase:

“Inspiring words for someone having a hard time”.

How happy I am that somehow Google decided to point them to my blog, and I sincerely hope that they found what they were looking for.

I thought it was interesting, considering that I had just posted “Suffering in silence“, about my dream from which I was reminded how frequently we’re surrounded by people who suffer.

Here is evidence of that very principle, of someone turning to the internet for help.  Is that because they are not finding the help they need from the people in their lives?

Regardless, it shows how important it is that we be aware of others, and work (online and off) to help those that stand in need.

For those of you who are having a hard time, and who could use some inspiring words, I might suggest the following:

And finally, Romans 8:38-39:

For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creathure, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

May God be with you,
Rusty

Rusty,
You have a unique gift for helping others find comfort. So many in this world carry heavy burdens and live in very difficult circumstances. A word of comfort or sometimes just being pointed in the right direction can make a big difference.

Sometimes we can be the right person in the right place at the right time. Online it can be the right message with the right tag at the right time. We seldom know when those opportunities will come. We just pray we are ready when they do.

Maybe one thing we can do is find ways we can increase those opportunities by doing things and being in places where they are more likely to occur. I think this blog is one place to start. Look around at your life and see what you can come up with.

Thank you. I truly hope I make a difference. I think you’re right too, if we all just look around and do just a little more, it’ll make a big difference.

You might want to take a look at a couple of the links I posted in my most recent blog. Particulatly the first one. Something like this could really help people regardless of religious affiliation or lack thereof.

Rusty,
You are truly a light upto men, and this Blog my be that hill you have set it upon. You certianly bring the light of christ into my Blog experiences as so much of this “Blog-iverse” is used up by the darkness. It is good to find these lights in the dark of night, and finding some more and more you start to see how they shine bright as the sun.

God bless you, as you have uplifted me,
-D
