Keep a-Goin’
Frank L. StantonIf you strike a thorn or rose,
Keep a-goin’!
If it hails or if it snows,
Keep a -goin’!
‘Taint no use to sit an’ whine
When the fish ain’t on your line;
Bait your hook an’ keep a-tryin’—
Keep a-goin’!When the weather kills your crop,
Keep a-goin’!
Though ‘tis work to reach the top,
Keep a-goin’!
S’pose you’re our o’ ev’ry dime,
Gittin’ broke ain’t any crime;
Tell the world you’re feelin’ prime—
Keep a-goin’!When it looks like all is up,
Keep a-goin’!
Drain the sweetness from the cup,
Keep a-goin’!
See the wild birds on the wing,
Hear the bells that sweetly ring,
When you feel like surgin’, sing—
Keep a-goin’!

Hi Rusty,
Thank you for sharing the poem with us.
I love poems very much and have written lots of poems in English.
Now I’d like to share one of my poems with you. It is my favourite poem written by myself–
Thank you my best friends
Whenever you always gave me strength
Every time that I felt down
Lovingly you always soothed my frown
Under the starry sky we talked together
Reminding me of my good old grandfather
Thinking of nothing but selfless love
Hand in hand we took the rough
In loneliness you helped me take a stand
At the bottom of my heart you are a brand
I miss the days we talked head to head
But like creatures’ end they are all dead
Farewell my best friends
As you go on your own life trends
Every day longing to continue our talk-overs
But afraid to get on your nerves
With mysteries and beauties the whole world’s rife
Close to you is my heart for your philosophy of life
At any rate I impudently let you down
You complaint nothing but taught me right from wrong
In great down spirit you lent a helping hand
Between despair and hope a bridge spanned
I wish there were a lifetime together we could spend
But like all good things it finally came to an end

The poem above is mainly inspired by Seasons in the Sun.
